Official course description: All matter is made up of charged particles. This second semester of the general physics course, following PHYS113, focuses on the physics of charged particles that gives rise to both electricity and magnetism. Through lectures and demonstrations, this course develops our understanding of the forces charged particles exert on each other and develops the concepts of electric and magnetic fields. Calculus is used extensively. The associated lab PHYS124 is recommended.
