Official course description: Topics in general chemistry including phase transitions, thermochemistry, spontaneity/equilibrium, electrochemistry, kinetics, bonding, order/symmetry in condensed phases, coordination compounds, descriptive chemistry. Includes a weekly 3-hour lab. Credit is not given for CHEM 114 if the student has credit for CHEM 118. Prerequisite(s): Grade of C or better in CHEM 112 or the equivalent. Students with an equivalent course from another institution must take the chemistry placement examination. Natural World - With Lab course.
