Official course description: This is the first in a two-course sequence devoted to the study of single-variable calculus. The course includes the same topics as COS-MATH-181, but the focus of its workshop component is different. Whereas workshops attached to 181 emphasize concept development and commonly provide real-world applications, the workshops of 181A emphasize skill development and provide just-in-time review of precalculus material as needed. The course covers two-dimensional analytic geometry, functions, limits, continuity, the derivative, rules of differentiation, applications of the derivative, Riemann sums, definite integrals, and indefinite integrals. (Permission of the RIT School of Mathematical Sciences) Class 4, Workshop 2, Credit 4 (F,S,Su)
