For the following reaction, 3.57 grams of hydrochloric acid are mixed with excess oxygen gas. The reaction yields 0.741 grams of water.

Hey there! You would first get the moles value of both masses. Then use the balanced chemical equation to determine the ratio of HCl to H2O that will be theoretically produced. From there you should have theoretical and actual mole values for H2O and can now compute for percent yield as shown below:
