Hey Sarah! What a wild question! Haha

We've never seen a starting compound like that before. Normally we expect a regular cyclooctatetraene in it's most stable form where all the double bonds are conjugated and that would be a much more stable and realistic molecule. However, since you are given this as a question we would love to help you but possibly need more context.

Do you have some examples in your notes that we could take a look at regarding this addition? Let us know!

@chris haha I wish! I can't find anything relating to such question, how about any of the other parts for 8?
