Question

A coffee-cup calorimeter initially contains 125g of water at 24.2 degrees Celsius. Then 10.5g KBr, also at 24.2 degree celsius, is added to water. after KBr dissolves, Tf= 21.1. C csoln= 4.18J/g C

A. Calculate q for this reaction in J and kJ B. Calc # of moles KBr involved in this reaction. C. Calc enthalpy change for the reaction kJ/mol of KBr D. Is it endo or exothermic? How do you know?

  • Hey @jeng8, I think you forgot to add the final temperature after the addition of KBr, can you follow it up? Reyn commented over 2 years ago
