One of the reactions we have to know for my exam is Halohydrination using HOCl, HOBr. Is that the same as halohydrin formation

Hi @kalynh1! Usually X2/H2O or HX/H2O are the reagents used for halohydrin formation but I've looked it up and hypohalous acids like HOCl and HOBr can also be used in halohydrin reaction. Check out this link: tinyurl.com/yal2j6c9
