Density is a measurement of an object’s ratio of mass per unit of volume:
density = mass/ volume
It is considered a temperature-dependent measurement since many substances’ volumes change along with changes in temperature. It should not be confused with weight since weight depends on a gravitational field, whereas density relies upon mass and volume alone (two properties obtained by measurements that remain the same despite the presence of a gravitational field).
