Calculate to the correct number of significant figures.

d. 453 ÷ 2.031

Hey guys, here we're going to calculate the correct answer to the right number of significant figures so here we're given 453 divided by 2.031, remember when you multiplying or dividing its least number of significant figures, here has no decimal points so we're going to go going to go from right to life or our first non-zero number is this 3 once you start counting you count all the way through so this has 3 sig figs, the next number has a decimal point so we're going to go from left to right our first non-zero number is this 2 count all the way through to get to the end 1 2 3 4 sig figs so since our answer has to have the least number of significant figures we have 3 digits 3 sig figs at the end so when we punch this into our calculator we get 223.043 and we're going to say here we have to have 3 significant figures so we're just going to change it to 223 or written in scientific notation 2.23x10^2, OK? So, this would also be a correct answer so remember multiplying or dividing its least number of decimal...Not least number of decimal places least number of sig figs when you're adding or subtracting that's when it's least number of decimal places.
