Radiation is the emission of energy in the form of particles or waves. This emitted energy, depending on the energy level, may be classified either as ionizing or non-ionizing. Ionizing radiation carries enough energy to dislodge 1 or more electrons from its orbit around an atom. This results in radical or ion production, and thus, the name.
Ionizing radiation does NOT include:
A. gamma rays
B. UV rays
D. cosmic rays
